Here are the answers:
1. How long before my
ketubah is ready?
Normally, it takes
only a few days to ship your ketubah from the time we
receive your order and chances are you'll
get your ketubah in a little over a week. However, in order
to be timely, we have to allow 2 weeks from the time we
receive your order just in case the mail
is slow, your order gets lost in the mail or some force of nature has put
a stop to our normal processes.
2. How much time do I need to allow for personalization? Here again, it doesn't take 3 weeks to personalize your ketubah, but we may be backed up just when your order comes in. Three weeks from the time we receive your order will allow us to catch up to all our orders. And if there's a need to rush your order, please let us know. We'll do everything in our power to get it in your hands on time.
3. How is my ketubah personalized? The text is written in digital calligraphy, as is the personalization if you opt for that, with excellent results. So if you personalize your ketubah with us, you won't be able to tell the difference between normal text and the personalized text.
4. What happens if there's a mistake? We have instituted a step by step process of checks and balances which has reduced errors to a nonexistent status for us. Since we've instituted this method, we haven't had a single mistake on any of our shipped ketubot. However, if by some remote chance there is a mistake and it is ours, we'll correct it and send it out immediately at no charge to you. If the mistake is yours, we'll correct it and send it out immediately and only charge you an additional 50% the cost of the original ketubah (plus shipping costs) for the corrected version. We can't stress this enough, it pays to be accurate.
5. What to do if I don't have a Hebrew name? If you are going through a conversion before the wedding ceremony, you (with the help of your rabbi) will have the opportunity to select a Hebrew name. If you are having an interfaith wedding ceremony, we will transliterate your name into Hebrew when you don't have and are not getting a Hebrew name. Please write "spell phonetically" on the form.
6. What to do if I don't know the Hebrew date? If you have the English date, we can provide the Hebrew date.
7. Can I get my own custom version of text on my ketubah? Yes, with an additional cost of $50.00 for the English and Hebrew. Please discuss your text choice with your rabbi and make certain that it meets with his/her requirements. Translations of your English text into Hebrew are available at an additional cost. Both English and Hebrew must be provided to us electronically. If, for example, you'd like to combine our English text from the Reform version with our Hebrew text from the Orthodox version, there is no additional cost.
8. Can the colors of the ketubah be changed? Some of our ketubot are available in other colors than the ones featured on our website. Please ask about the specific ketubah you have in mind. Speaking of color, since there are lots of different computer monitors on the market, each with their own individual color systems, your computer monitor may be showing you a slightly different version than the actual ketubah. The colors on the giclee ketubah are always richer than can be seen on your computer monitor.
9. I want to personalize the ketubah myself, can the text color be changed to black? Yes. Please indicate that on your order form. Changing the text color to black is free of charge. Changing your text color to any other PMS color is an additional $25.00 (please indicate exact PMS color).
10. Why are there size options? We've selected the optimum size for each ketubah. You may not be able to accommodate a 20x20 ketubah. Some couples want smaller ketubot and others may want them larger. The smaller ones are more economically priced. The quality on all sizes is excellent.
11. How is my ketubah shipped? We ship our ketubot in a tube via US Postal Service 2nd Day Air. If you wish to have yours shipped via Next Day Air, please indicate so on the order form and include the additional shipping costs shown here.
12. Why personalize with us? It's always best to personalize with the same company that produces your ketuba. In addition, our price is more than competitive; the text color and other characteristics match perfectly and most important, the results are impeccable.
13. How can I tell if my ketubah has shipped on time? If your provide us with your email address, we'll notify you when we've received your order as well as when the completed ketubah has shipped.
14. Can I get a sample or gift print? Of course. Our sample or gift prints go through the exact same process as the full size ketubah. This is an excellent way to see our work first hand and to make certain your ketubah choice is exactly what you had in mind. Some couples may also wish to store the gift print in a safe place. The cost for a full color sample or gift print is $10.00 each for an 8"x10" maximum image area. The sample or gift print(s) may be ordered before or along with the final ketubah order. The $10 is not applicable towards your ketubah purchase.
15.
What is a giclee? pronounced jee-clay,
it is a French word which means sprayed ink. Giclee is the very popular method of
fine art production now used by fine artists. It is an
output process which gives an immediate and vibrant result. This finely honed technology in
which more than four million droplets of ink per second are sprayed onto paper
or canvas, captures the finest nuances of the original painting. Since archival,
ultra-chrome inks and 100% cotton, acid-free papers rated to last for
80-120 years are used, your giclee ketubah should last a lifetime. And
because of the many layers of ink applied to the surface, giclees will
truly have the appearance of an original work of art.
Many
of our ketubot have original watercolor or oil paintings as backgrounds for the
marriage vows. Without the marriage vows, anyone looking at our works would
have a very difficult time telling which is an original painting and which is
the giclee.
